The Buddha is seated in the padmasana or full lotus seated position on a double lotus base. He has a slight, playful smile on his lips and downcast eyes. The left hand is held in his lap with the palm facing upward in the Dhyana Mudra of meditation while his right hand raised in the Abhaya Mudra of protection. He wears simple yet beautiful robes that flow easily over his legs. He has a pronounced third eye on his forehead. The 3rd eye is symbolic of the Buddha being able to see the true nature of reality.
A beautiful bust of Lord Buddha! The statue has rich, antique, verde gris patina which is typical of Indonesian bronze statues.
